Hello all,

I know it's short notice but we have the go ahead for two trail work days on the Folsom Prison XC course for Cyclebration (and hopefully other future stuff too!)

We plan to work from 8am until noon or 1:00pm when the heat sets in. We will meet at 7:50 behind the Folsom Library. We will focus on basic weed eating and debris clearing. We have already been working on this for two work days so far and the basic course is established. We may wwork on a climb option if we find a suitable route.

If you can help here are some important things: Please DO NOT WEAR BLUE JEANS, BLUE PANTS OR CAMOFLAGE... the guards could wrestle you to the ground and you will not be happy :-o

Meet at 7:50 behind the Folsom Library for a group meeting before we go onto the Prison. (see map)

Bring a camlebak with water, safety/sun glasses a hat and sunscreen.

Questions:

What tools do you have? In order of priority we need: Weed eater, McCloud, rake, then pick or shovel.

Also, do you have a cell phone? If so, what is your number?

In return for your work: You will get to ride the course before anyone else!

Please RSVP to my email below.

UPDATE:

What a great day, with my little tractor with mower and scraper attachements we managed to get pretty much all the course on the prison property weeded and scraped. The rest of the crew cleaned up the trail from the to-be-installed bridge to the exit of the prison property - THANKS to Dawn, Andy and Kelly! We are now looking at the optional route for the climb out (in the yellow on the map above) but we need more volunteers to commit to that task.

This FRIDAY will be more scraping with the tractor, a bit more weed eating, but mainly we hope to build the bridge that will span the creek to allow us to return via the back side of the Folsom Police department.

If you'd like to help this Friday the 30th, please email me directly :-)
